A painter. Seeing the world through a different lens.
Art found Rico at five years old when his dad gifted him oil pastels and a coloring book, sparking a lifelong passion for creation. From coloring book pages to drawing on the white walls of his parent's house, his love for art has been unwavering, fueling his artistic journey to this day.
He questioned himself, "What should I do if there are no guidelines in painting?". To that question, he says, "All I can do is try something new."
In collaboration with INSTAX, Rico challenged himself to capture candid portraits of strangers, with their consent, and print them with his INSTAX SQUARE Link Smartphone printer. To further push himself, he decided to use these stranger's portraits and to paint their emotions onto the print border. Rico is used to interpreting his own emotions, but seeing the expressions of others come to life was worth a shot.
