QUESTION

I cannot print photos from iCloud.
Photos cannot be printed directly from iCloud. In order to print photos from iCloud, they must first be downloaded to the camera roll of your device.
Cannot connect to printer with iOS 13 and newer.

To connect to printer with iOS 13, you need the access to "Location." Please follow the instruction below for the access.

  1. Please go to "Setting" in your iOS. Find "Location" at "instax SHARE" bar, and Select "While using the App."
  2. If you cannot find "Location," please open "instax SHARE" app. Tap "Real time template" on the app screen at upper left, and select the dialogue "Allow."
If you are using Android 6.0 or later and cannot connect to the printer

If you are using Android 6.0 or later and cannot connect to the printer, check the following settings.

GPS Settings

It is sometimes not possible to connect to the printer when the GPS function of your Android device is turned off.
Follow the steps below to turn your GPS function on.

Example: Nexus7 (Android 6.0.1)
  1. Tap "Setting".
  2. Tap "Location".
  3. If "Position Information" is off, turn it on.
  4. Try connecting to the printer.
  5. If communication is still not possible after performing steps 1 to 3, turn the position information setting in 3 off and back on again, then try connecting to the printer again.
Authority settings in the "instax SHARE" app

Some or all of the functions of the "instax SHARE" app cannot be used unless the following authority settings are enabled for the app.
Please follow the steps below to enable these authority settings. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Example: Nexus7 (Android 6.0.1)
  1. Tap "Setting"
  2. Tap "Apps"
  3. Tap "instax SHARE"
  4. Tap "Permission"
  5. Enable "Camera", "Storage"
I cannot connect to the printer with my iPhone.

Check the settings below if you are unable to connect the printer to your iPhone.

Wi-Fi connection

Select "Wi-Fi" on the "Settings" screen, then select "INSTAX-********" from the list of connections (select the SSID that matches the number on the back of your unit).

instax SHARE App Permission Settings

Some or all functions may not be usable unless the following permissions are allowed for your instax SHARE app.
If using iOS 13 or later, location access is required for printing.
You will be asked to allow access when using the following functions for the first time.

  • - "Take a picture": "Camera"
  • - "Real time template": "Camera", "Location"
  • - "Select from photos": "Photos"
  • - Printing functions: "Location" (*for iOS 13 or later)

Follow the steps below to enable disabled permission.


For iPhone 6s (iOS 10.3.3)
  1. Tap "Settings".
  2. Tap "instax SHARE".
  3. Under "Allow instax SHARE to access", make sure that "Camera", "Photos" and "Location" are all enabled.
    Note: These permission settings are not displayed if the function listed below has not yet been used. .
    • - "Camera": "Take a picture" / "Real time template"
    • - "Location": "Real time template"
    • - "Photos": "Select from photos"
I want to know the latest firmware.

Follow the steps below to check the firmware version of the printer.

[How to Check the Firmware Version]
  1. Turn on the power of the printer.
  2. In the Wi-Fi settings of your smart phone, select the SSID of the printer.
  3. Start the app.
  4. Press [Settings].
  5. Press [Printer setting].
  6. You will be asked for the password when connecting to the printer for the first time. Input the password.
  7. Press [Firmware Version].
  8. The current version of the printer is written at the top of the screen.
I want to update the printer to the latest firmware.
I cannot print sometimes.

Update the instax SHARE app and the firmware to the latest version.

[Updating the Firmware]
  1. Charge the printer sufficiently beforehand, or plug it into a USB power supply.
  2. Update the app to the latest version.
    <Checking the Version of the App>
    Start the instax SHARE app and press [Settings] -> [Other].
    The version is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
    <Latest Versions>
    → iOS
    → Andoroid
  3. Turn on the power of the printer.
  4. In the Wi-Fi settings of your smart phone, select the SSID of the printer.
  5. Start the app.
  6. Press [Settings].
  7. Press [Printer setting].
  8. You will be asked for the password when connecting to the printer for the first time. Input the password.
    The initial password is "1111".
  9. Press [Firmware Version].
  10. The current version of the printer is written at the top of the screen.
  11. Press [Update Firmware].
  12. When the message "The printer firmware will be updated" is displayed, click "OK".
    If the message "No firmware update is available" is displayed, this means that the latest version is already being used, and the firmware cannot be updated further.
  13. The LEDs of the printer blink alternately.
  14. After a while, a message will appear in the app saying "If the LEDs of the printer are not blinking like this..."
    Check that the LEDs of the printer are not blinking alternately and press "OK".
  15. If the message "In the settings screen of your device..." appears, select the SSID of the printer in the Wi-Fi settings of your smart phone (iOS only).
  16. Press "OK" (iOS only).
  17. The message "The update was completed normally" is displayed on normal completion of the update.
[Caution]
  • The printer has an auto power off function that automatically turns off the power after several minutes of no operations.
  • The factory default password is "1111".
How many smartphones can be connected to the printer via Wi-Fi at once?
Up to 8 smartphones can be connected to one printer. If you want to connect more than 8 smartphones for printing, disconnect or delete the Wi-Fi connection in the settings screen of some smartphones after printing.
Photos to be printed may not be displayed if they were selected by logging in to Dropbox.
Only the root folder can be accessed at present, but there are currently plans to enable access to other folders.
